ProWine expands promotion work in more cities
ProWein Düsseldorf, held annually in March, has become the world’s No.1 trade fair for wines and spirits. As a direct extension of the ProWein family, ProWine China is far ahead of wine and spirit trade fairs in Mainland China, boasting unparalleled quality and assemblage of international exhibitors. ProWine China is undoubtedly the ideal resource for Chinese importers, distributors, and retailers search for the perfect labels from the most diverse vineyards. The last ProWine China, held in November 2015, successfully attracted 10,300 trade visitors, increasing 25% over the 2014 edition. This year’s ProWine China is expected to gain even more visitors through cooperation and joint efforts with industry partners.

Vinehoo, an integrated e-commerce site for sales of wines in China, will cooperate with ProWine China in recruiting more trade visitors to the event in Shanghai. Vinehoo’s diverse business projects include Vinehoo.com, Winyun.com, China’s Wine List of the Year Awards, China’s Blind Tasting Competition, partnership with restaurants and public relations activities. By tapping into Vinehoo’s diverse resources of wine distributors, importers, sommeliers and restaurant managers, more visitors will be drawn to ProWine China 2016.

Since 2014, ProWine China has been teaming up with WINE 100, organizers of the WINE 100 Challenge. Each year, the WINE 100 organizer runs tours to showcase award-winning wines in major wine-consuming cities in China.  In August and September, ProWine China will join WINE 100 on tours, starting in Northern China.  The tour is scheduled to include Harbin, Shenyang, Beijing, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Nanjing, Kunming, Guiyang and Changsha. Through these events, ProWine China expects to boost visitors to the trade fair.

China’s Blind Tasting Competition is one of the first professional nation-wide competition for wine enthusiasts, where industry practitioners come together and compete with their abilities of blind tasting. The 2016 competition is expected to take place in over 50 cities under the patronage of influential local organizers including local media outlets, opinion leaders, wine education institutions, and wine trading companies. 8,000 candidates are expected to participate in this year’s competition. ProWine China will also engage in event marketing and providing the latest news in all 50 cities where the competition will be held.

On top of promoting the trade fair, ProWine China has also launched the Very Important Buyer (VIB) program in cities which maintain major wine imports or hold key purchasers. Travel expenses for VIBs to Shanghai will be covered by ProWine China.  Furthermore, the organizer plans to host promotional campaigns in Tianjin, Hefei, Yantai, Zhengzhou, Qingdao and Nantong to share the latest news and updates from the trade fair and to invite local buyers to visit. Quality buyers please get in contact with Mr. Josh Gu at josh.gu@mds.cn.

ProWine China will feature a Spirits Bar

ProWine China 2016 will feature a Spirits Bar, where exhibitors have the opportunity to showcase products for public tasting. The organizer is honored to host the Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association, who will be in charge of the Spirits Bar stand for three days during the fair.

Neil Wong, President of the Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association, explained: “The Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association is delighted to be managing the Spirits Bar at ProWine China 2016. The Spirits Bar will be operated by professional bartenders from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland and include Guest Bartenders offered by exhibitors to the exhibition. For exhibitors who don’t have their own bartenders at the show, the Spirits Bar can also provide an opportunity for them to showcase their products. Exhibitors may provide us a recipe of the best cocktails using their products and our professional bartenders will make and sample your cocktails to the professional audience of F&B trade; restaurant and bar managers; bartenders and distributors attending ProWine China 2016. The Shanghai and the Chinese market for cocktails and spirits has grown rapidly in recent years and the Spirits Bar at ProWine China 2016 provides the perfect opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products beyond their exhibition stands.”

Currently, Armenia, France, Italy, Russia and Mexico, with long traditions of spirit production, have confirmed their participation at the trade fair. Producers of spirits from Latvia, Sweden, Moldova and Finland have also signed on to participate.
